Jims

Around 2005, while walking the streets of London with an old film camera and my close friend an evident interest in old men, or “Jims” as we now refer to them, soon developed into what is currently a passionate appreciation. The term “Jim” evolved out of a deep respect for old men and is intended to express three qualities which I hope to capture in my drawings of their old faces – wisdom, dignity and benevolence. As I continue to discover and draw new Jims around the world I anticipate with increasing trepidation the arrival of my own wise, old face.
